Chris and Evan Prenovitz first met many years ago at a yoga class in Boston, Massachusetts. Since then, yoga and meditation have been the foundation of their lives, their work, and their relationships with clients and each other. They reside in Seattle, Washington.

Meet Chris

As a stress-management and behavior-change coach, I help people make positive, sustainable changes in their lives. I teach a unique blend of yoga-based stress management and mindfulness practices that empower people to connect with their inner wisdom to support new skills and lasting change.

Over the years, I’ve enjoyed working with hundreds of wonderful people facing a wide variety of challenges—including people living with heart disease and other chronic health conditions, successful business people feeling disconnected from themselves, parents juggling the demands of family life, and seniors looking to live with ease in body, mind, and heart.

I’ve served as a stress management consultant and group facilitator in hospitals, workplaces, research programs, and community organizations. Programs I’ve led include:

  • Dr. Dean Ornish’s program for reversing heart disease
  • Medically Supervised Workplace programs for helping employees improve their health behaviors
  • Behavior-change programs for people dealing with obesity and mood disorders, and with smoking
  • Mindfulness groups for people grappling with substance abuse
  • Support groups for people living with chronic health conditions

In addition to a Master’s degree in social work, I completed a certificate in mind-body medicine from the Institute for Mind-Body Medicine (now the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine) at Massachusetts General Hospital. I’m an Advanced Integral Yoga teacher with specialized training in supporting people who have heart disease, cancer, or other chronic health conditions. I’m also a member of Yoga Alliance, with the highest designation of E-RYT-500 and am a local dharma leader for the Seattle Insight Meditation Society. I have extensive training in mindfulness meditation, and an ongoing meditation practice.

Meet Evan

My work as a stress management and meditation teacher draws upon the wise understanding and the practical application of yoga and meditation. This forms my perspective and assists in how I relate to the ups and downs inherent in juggling the demands of my own life. As a former Executive Director of corporate, school and non-profit organizations, clients appreciate knowing I successfully navigate the same challenges and pressures of life as they do.

I share my understanding of the wisdom of these teachings along with my real world experience in order to bring practicality and compassionate understanding to my work.

I love working with people who want to improve the quality of their life and bring more balance and well being into their life.

 My experience includes:

  • Stress management, yoga and meditation programs at hospitals, workplaces, prisons, churches, yoga studios and community organizations
  • Founding Board President of the Seattle Insight Meditation Society
  • Meditation and support groups for people living with HIV, cancer, heart disease and other chronic health conditions
  • Mentor for the Insight Meditation Correspondence course
  • Meditation and nonviolent communication workshops in prison with the Freedom Project
  • Dr. Dean Ornish’s Program for Reversing Heart Disease
  • Workplace programs for helping employees improve their health behaviors

I am a Certified Advanced Integral Yoga and Breathwork teacher and a Community Dharma Leader through Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
